What should be done if the power of the laser marking machine declines?

Power attenuation of laser marking machines is a relatively common issue, which can affect the quality and efficiency of marking. The following are the causes of power attenuation and their solutions:

I. Causes of Power Attenuation and Solutions

(1) Laser Aging
- Cause: Prolonged use of the laser leads to aging of its components, resulting in a decline in output power.
- Solution: Regularly check the output power of the laser. If the attenuation exceeds 15%, consider replacing the laser or its core components.

(2) Optical Component Contamination
- Cause: Dust, oil, and other contaminants adhere to the surface of optical components (such as lenses and mirrors), affecting the efficiency of laser transmission.
- Solution: Regularly clean the optical components using alcohol-free ethanol and a lint-free cloth to gently wipe them.

(3) Inaccurate optical path system
- Cause: Misalignment or improper adjustment of the optical path, resulting in the inability to effectively focus the laser energy.
- Solution: Check and adjust the optical path to ensure the accuracy of the optical paths of the laser, beam expander, galvanometer, and field lens.

(4) Cooling System Failure
- Cause: Failure of the cooling system causes the laser to overheat, reducing the output power.
- Solution: Regularly inspect the cooling system to ensure its normal operation. If the coolant is insufficient, it should be replenished in a timely manner.

(V) Unstable Power Supply
- Cause: Unstable power voltage affects the normal operation of the laser.
- Solution: Use a stable power supply and install a voltage stabilizer if necessary.

(6) Fiber Loss
- Cause: There is inherent light loss in the fiber itself, and the loss increases with the increase of usage time.
- Solution: Use high-quality fibers and try to shorten the fiber length as much as possible.

(7) Decrease in Input Beam Quality
- Cause: Deterioration of input beam quality, such as an increase in beam divergence angle.
- Solution: Regularly inspect the optical path to ensure the quality of the input beam.

(8) Control System Failure
- Cause: Abnormal power output due to control system failure.
- Solution: Regularly maintain the control system to ensure its normal operation.

II. Daily Maintenance Suggestions

(1) Regular Inspection and Cleaning
- Regularly inspect optical components, optical path systems and cooling systems, and clean and maintain them in a timely manner.
- Clean the focusing lens once a week and check the laser output power once a month.

(2) Reasonable Parameter Settings
- Set the marking parameters reasonably based on the material properties to avoid excessively high or low power.
- The marking speed should not be too fast to prevent affecting the marking effect.

(3) Avoid Long Continuous Operation
- Do not let the equipment operate continuously for a long time. Shut it down for 10 minutes to cool down every 2 hours of operation.

III. Points to Note

- Some maintenance and repair operations must be carried out by professional technicians. Do not disassemble it by yourself.
- Regularly contact the equipment manufacturer or professional maintenance personnel for comprehensive inspection and maintenance.

By the above methods, the problem of power attenuation of the laser marking machine can be effectively solved, the service life of the equipment can be prolonged, and the marking quality and efficiency can be improved.
